Good to know

Welcome to the Salty Dolphin, a peaceful riverfront escape where the St. Johns River meets the Intracoastal. Located on Fanning Island, one of the barrier islands along the St. Johns River, this is the kind of place where you can slow down, enjoy incredible water views, watch dolphins from the deck, and experience a quieter side of Jacksonville—all while staying close to everything the area has to offer. Think of the Salty Dolphin as a quiet waterfront micro-resort. The home features one comfortable bedroom, two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and some incredible outdoor spaces. Step outside to relax on the patio, gather around the firepit in the evening, cool off in the pool, or head down to the dock and cast a line while watching boats and dolphins pass by. Love to fish? Bring your gear and fish right from the dock! We do not provide bait, but there is a bait shop conveniently located nearby. The swimming pool is shared with the Airbnb home next door, so there may be other guests enjoying the property and pool during your stay. It creates a relaxed, small-resort atmosphere while still giving you your own private townhome to retreat to. For those bringing a boat or planning an offshore fishing trip, Jim King Park and Boat Ramp is only about 1/2 mile away and is home to the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament. With the Atlantic just a few miles away by water, this is an especially great home base for fishing, boating, and exploring Florida’s First Coast. When you're ready to venture out, you're conveniently located near JAX Airport, the JAXPORT Cruise Terminal, Amelia Island, the Ribault Club, downtown Jacksonville, and the Mayport Ferry. Whether you're here to fish, explore, watch dolphins from the dock, or simply spend a few quiet days by the water, the Salty Dolphin is a special little corner of Jacksonville to call home.

Other Details to Note

PLEASE READ – A QUICK NOTE ABOUT OUR WATER Our waterfront property uses natural artesian well water, which is common in this area. Because it is untreated and naturally contains minerals, you may notice a different scent and taste than traditional city water, particularly when showering. For your convenience, we provide a starter supply of bottled drinking water upon arrival. Guests who prefer to use bottled water for drinking or cooking throughout their stay may want to bring or purchase additional water as needed. It’s simply part of the experience of staying at our little waterfront retreat, but we like to make sure our guests know what to expect before arriving!
